Do you provide boarding for pets?
At Home Pet Sitting will be offering Dog Boarding starting in the fall of 2019.

What times are available for appointments and how long do they last?
At Home Pet Sitting offers four windows for appointments:
· Morning – 6:30 am to 9 am
· Midday – 11 am to 3 pm
· Evening – 4 pm to 6 pm
· Late Night - 7 pm to 9:30 pm
The appointment lengths range from 15 minutes - 60 minutes and the pet sitter can visits up to four times per day.
*Please note that for dogs, the 15-minute appointments can only be paired with additional visits throughout the day. These visits are intended for late night visits only as it does not provide enough time to facilitate feeding or proper human contact.
Do you offer 24 hour live in care?
No, at this time I am only able to offer the services as listed.
How far ahead do I need to book?
Booking as soon as possible is always best, but in most cases 2-3 weeks notice is recommended. I recommend booking 6-8 weeks in advance for overnight care and 2-3 weeks for our drop in visits.
Is the consultation free?
Yes, however, I do require a non refundable $20.- deposit, which will be credited to your pet care service.
Do I need to have a consultation?
Yes, an initial consultation is required and I will not provide any pet services unless I have met your pet. During the consultation, you will get to meet your pet sitter and see how they interact with your pet. Also this will be when all documentation will be filled out and any other questions or concerns will be discussed.
Do you charge more for service on holidays?
Yes – there is a $5 surcharge added to the standard fee for services rendered on major annual holidays. Major holidays include New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Canada Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Do you only care for cats and dogs?
No, although cats and dogs are the most common, I care for all household pets and farm animals.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At Home Pet Sitting accepts Etransfers or Checks and payments must be paid upfront. Clients may leave cash tips for care providers, but the cost of service must be paid to At Home Pet Sitting prior to the start of any service.
Do you have references?
Absolutely. Please contact me for further information and a list of references.
What if my pet has to go to the vet while in your care?
I hope that doesn't happen, but I collect all of your pet's veterinarian information during the consultation, so I will try to take your pet to its own vet if the need arises. I will always try to contact you before taking your pet to the vet.
Can I make last-minute request for service?
Yes, I do accept last-minute reservation requests as long as I have a sitter available. A $10 late fee will be charged for services booked with less than 24 hours’ notice.
What is your cancellation policy?
The cancellation policy varies for different services:
Midday Walks – 24 hour notice for frequent clients,
- 48 hours for others
Pet Sitting drop in visits & Overnight Care
– 48 hours minimum for appointments lasting 2 days or less
-7 days notice for appointments lasting 7 days
-2 weeks notice for appointments lasting longer than 7 days
There is a minimum $15 cancellation fee. If you cancel your services within the required notice time, you will be refunded your deposit. Last minute cancellations will result in the deposit being withheld.
I forgot to buy enough pet food for the time that I'm away, can you pick up more if it should run out?
Absolutely. I understand that this can sometimes be forgotten or miscalculated. I am more than happy to pick up more food/cat litter if the need arises. Please keep in mind, there is a $10.- fee for feed pick up.
I would like my key back at the end of the appointment, can you drop it off?
Yes, a key pick up/drop off can be arranged at an extra fee of $15.-
Do you work during the day or have another job?
No, this is my only job. I dedicate 100% of my time to my business and care for many animals throughout the day.
